jacko
Wow........ Just had my dad shouting at me to come downstairs, ran into the garden to see the Vulcan flying over. I saw it at Farnborough, but it looks so much more impressive when flying about. Its so great that it's back in the air again
merckx
I didn't think they had any still flying.
Andy-No-Knee
I remember seeing a few in formation with other escorts fly over my school during the Falklands War, I thought they were awesome then and still do. This is the first to be refurbed and got flying. I think it is the one that bombed Port Stanley airfield. I remember a thread on here a few years ago with a link to the refurb website asking for donations.
nikbiomed
I didn't think they had any still flying. I think they have got the odd one still able to get airborne, but very rare. I have to say I have not seen one since I was in the RAF based at North Luffenham, 1986ish. Saw it overhead, and believe me their is nothing like it. Moving very slowly, at the time that it looked like something from outerspace. What Base/Station do you think it came from?

Ewen
IIRR, its the only one left thats airworthy. The only one left flying in the world. It was due to appear at the recent Bournemouth air festival, but cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, a real shame.

jacko
yeah this is the only one that is airworthy, after millions of pounds of investment, but they dont know how long it will be for, as theyre running out of money. But it was such a brilliant sight to see and it is based at Bruntingthorpe
ivan
IIRR, its the only one left thats airworthy. The only one left flying in the world. It was due to appear at the recent Bournemouth air festival, but cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, a real shame.A problem with an undercarraige door apparently. They fixed it in time but there was nobody available to declare it airworthy. A real shame as I'd have loved to have seen one flying again. Guest dangerousandy
I work with a guy who used to be in the RAF, and he is always telling us stories about the V-bombers. Truly amazing and it is a real shame they didn't preserve more of them.

UltraFlynn
It's a shame you don't get to hear Spitfire's these days on full boost and at max rpm. That would have sounded utterly amazing. They only ever run them at half power now and at about 6 lb of boost.
