alaing
Has anyone ever replaced just the allen head bolt in the centre locking mechanism of the aerotop roof? I dont really want to have to buy a brand new one from toyota as there ain't cheap, when its just on bolt. Maybe there is a engineer on her that could make me a new one to fit? Looking at it, it looks like allen head rivet type thing that has been hammered down on the back? Can anyone help?

alaing
No im talking about the actual bolt IN the mechanism. Has some one ever replaced it? A 20p bolt vs £40 it must be doable!

alaing
yeh i have its a rivet with an allen head on it. It acts as a pivot for the metal spike part. But i wondering if it has splines on the rivet or weather it just the clamping force from where the rivet has been crushed?
supra steveo
well if you have looked at it then take your roof off and take it out, its a 10 minute job if you have a socket set and a screw driver, the thing is if you cant find the part that will replace the allen screw head then you will have to put it back, i will be suprised if you find the allen screw part
