Conrad Posted September 3, 2008 Share Posted September 3, 2008 Trying to set-up my new HTPC on my wireless network. Thing is my connection is encrypted and I haven't a clue what my WPA passphrase is. Conrad Posted September 3, 2008 Author Share Posted September 3, 2008 No it's an old router, it was me that set it up. It has a wired and wireless connection already on it. I'm trying to add another wireless connection but it's asking for my WPA passphrase. I guess I would have created one when I set the router up but that was over a year ago and I've no clue what it is. Is there anyway i can access the router via the connections already attached and view the passphrase? It's a Livebox from orange, you can log onto the router but you need some kind of ip address to input into your browser IIRC. I guess I'll have to ring orange Tech Support, I was hoping to avoid them overseas muppets if I could. Plus they charge premium rate for tech support! I'll look into it.... not 100% but if it's like my Netgear router it's as you say...a universal IP address but you then need to log into the router to access the control panel. Guest gzaerojon Posted September 3, 2008 Share Posted September 3, 2008 don't forget you can plug your pc straight into your router with a network cable to avoid the wep key, then check what ip address it gives you (start/run type cmd the in the command box type ipconfig) use the gateway address on tinternet explorer to get into your router, but you will need the login and password, it could be a standard one you can find on google or it may even be stamped on the router Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
