Homer
Does this forum display correctly for anyone else with Chrome? I'm still finding the line spacing is all wrong and causes the sections and thread titles to be be line spaced (i.e. twice as much scrolling as with IE or firefox, plus a PITA)
imi
perfectly fine here (Mac version if it makes a difference)

I'm on Linux at the moment. Next time I'm using Vista I'll have a check against Firefox.

I'm still finding the line spacing is all wrong and causes the sections and thread titles to be be line spaced (i.e. twice as much scrolling as with IE or firefox, plus a PITA) No problems for me, I've being using Chrome for months now. I still can't edit or create listings on eBay using Chrome though which is ridiculous, so I permanently have FF, Chrome and IE open as some applications I need for work only work properly with one browser and not another I need a mac!!! Pete
You gotta laugh - they develop the most powerful search crawler....and it crawls into stuff that it shouldn't and everyone is surprised/upset.
MrRalphMan
According to the article, it only indexed stuff that people had shared on-line anyway..

monsween
Is this better than FF? I have so many applications installed to firefox i can do everything from it. I never use IE
RedM
Is this better than FF? I have so many applications installed to firefox i can do everything from it. I never use IE I would say no at this time. There are very few (no?) add-ons for Chrome. You can kind of get it to Ad-Block bu it requires installing another bit of software and then faffing about with proxy settings. FF wins hands down for add-ons, themes and extensions. Chrome is blindingly quick though.
DamanC
Gave it a shot. Bad points - Does not read HTML properly. Funny layouts etc - F**k all in the way of add ons Good points - nothing new over IE/FF Verdict It will come and go, linger and hang around like a smelly fart. Web developers wont optimize sites for chrome. Eventually it will die out.
Dash Rendar
I think the Incognito Mode of Chrome should not be underestimated.
Thorin
I think the Incognito Mode of Chrome should not be underestimated. Both Firefox and IE already have that though. I used Chrome briefly and it was quite nice, but it's not going to replace FF as my everyday browser. By the time Chrome is out of beta FF3.6 (and probably 4.0) will be out with apparently much faster java script engine too.
stevie_b
I tried Chrome briefly a few months ago, and couldn't get on with it. I found the user interface counter-intuitive. I use FF all the time now. In case peeps don't know, FF has an "IE mode" add-on where you can view pages using (presumably) a copy of the IE engine. I don't know if this also supports Microsoft's broken Javascript model, or just rendering. Worth bearing in mind (SupraGirlie?) if you're having to use different browsers for different things. Yup, "IE Tab" open pages in a separate tab running the IE browser engine. Useful for sites like Windows Update which will only work with IE. You can set a whitelist up with sites that will automatically open with IE Tab.
stevie_b
Thorin (or anyone), do you know what version of IE is used by the "IE Tab" add-on? I've googled it, the question gets asked but I haven't found an answer yet...
