I can't believe there are no threads on this.

Today, Google took on M$ at the web browser game. With only a mini leak yesterday, this has come as a shock to the industry....

But for those of you, with your finger on the pulse, what do you think of the beta?

Easy to read *comic* written to explain it all...

I'm just installing it now.

I was reading about this earlier so will be interested to see what it can offer.

Didn't realise it was available already, the site I read mentioned it was only available in a few weeks. Downloading now...

The only thing that worries me with google is all the stuff they're likely to tuck away in the code.

Oh no..not on here as well.

Honestly, if ever there's been anything hyped to the extreme then it's this.

How many record breaking downloads do we expect tomorrow? 5 million billion squillion? Will even the mighty Google be able to cope with the requests?

Will it be any good?

Will I need to rewrite all my bl**dy websites in yet another 'standard' compliant browser?

Reading the comic (which any average users will be lost by page 2) it seems clear to me that this is a prototype for the browser which will be used on the forthcoming Android.

All this memory saving, slim form and reusage of processes fits with a small embedded device.

Tried the laptop - Vista again but the favourites are stored in the normal location.

All my systems run IE7.0 and are fully up-to-date. I'll try it on XP tomorrow as I can't be arsed to reboot the PC tonight.

This time it worked well, HOWEVER...it *forgot* a few inc this site! It's definitely quick though.
