Swampy442
Sky also do an HD box for hdtv, also 10 pounds a month extra, but you have to pay. Dunno if you would have to pay for the sky+ box
caliAl
£57.50 will include the HD stuff which won't need if you only want Sky +. It should only be £47.50 without HD
Lbm
Oh my word. £57 a month My Sky+ Subscription is £21 per month IIRC OK I don't have Sky Sports or Sky Movies, but....the film channels I do get are fine. Plus I still have the option of Pay Per View Films (Sky Box Office) @ £3.99each - so one or two a month isn't so bad. And the recording using Sky+ is fab. gaz1
but did you know that if you have been with sky for over 2 years and ring up to cancel "and tell them its because of finacial reasons" they will give you 6months to a year at half price:blink: 2 of my mates have done it and my brother,
merckx
I got an offer through the door today from Sky. If I introduce a friend (who doesn't already have sky) to Sky TV they'll get a free Sky+ box or half price Sky+HD box and I'll get £50 of M & S vouchers. The Sky + box at present is £99 from Sky. (normallly £150) All you have to do is to ring Sky on 08448 245 993 and quote the ref number which I have here infront of me.
Pabs
Get it - it's wicked. Not being able to afford the whole lot - I'm paying £17 / month - that's for Sky+, Broadband, and phone. It's the cheapest package they do, only has 2 "channel packages" but it's enough for me, with the recording facility, dvd's, and the box office - not anything else I would want (yet).... would like the sports channels but just can't justify the price! Go to the pub and socialise instead
bignum
Make sure you can get signal before you get to excited, Astra2 28.2 degrees east of south and no tall trees too close,
Alex
If you have a TV capable of 1080i then I'd get a Sky HD box...otherwise Sky+ is enough. My subscription is just £20 a month and I get lots of normal channels but no sports or movies...
SBDJ
Just reminded me actually, I need to sort them out, I'm paying about £90 a month at the moment due to a bodged up multiroom subscription...!!

Mike
Get Sky+ at a minimum... When I go and visit the folks (with their 'normal' Sky)... it's like going without air!

Thorin
I've got freeview, costs me £0 a month, box does all the fancy "+" stuff and more, and less repeats and crap than on Sky
michael
I've been with them since the analogue days, signed up to SKY+ in the first week etc... now my box is obsolete and doesn't work with a lot of the newer things they offer, on demand etc - I called and asked if I could have a new box (I'm willing to pay), apparently not, I have to cancel and sign up again at a daft price and go onto their newer tariffs which are more expensive than I pay for the same thing or buy one on eBay. Alex
I bought my SkyHD box from eBay...phoned Sky and asked for a subscription....they sent me a card and the rest is history.

Let me know if you're interested Michael, you'll need to register your existing card with the new box, but I'm sure you can do that over the phone. I also have the Merckx introduce a friend code if anyone wants to sign up to sky+ for free. Mike
