...anyone else get down to see it ?

Better than I expected, yesterday was great thanks to a rather odd sunny day. Today just dodging the downpour, poor visibility too. Some great planes over the last two days, the Lynx pilot was amazing and the Red Arrows excellent. Memorial Flight an added bonus.

I was there yesterday and thought it was brilliant! It was a gorgeous day, the red arrows were fantastic as usual and it was great being smack in the middle of their display area and being able to see the whole display perfectly (plus very handy being right by the bar :). The thing I really liked was the Blades display team - they were amazing, and technically are an airline, you can pay to be their passenger!

They had a load of tethered hot air baloons on the gardens in the evening - that was cool too as they lit up when they fired the burners.

It was absolutely rammed, quarter of a million people there apparently!

Lin and I went on Friday. We got the bus into the Square and walked down through the gardens, then along to Boscombe Pier and back.

What a great day. :D

Looking how burnt I got on a day with no real sun, I'm so glad I didn't go yesterday.

Yesterday and today I nearly frightened Lin to death as I ran out the back door trying to catch a glimpse of the Lancaster as it went overhead. Missed it both times though because it was so low. :(

I got toasted enough for all three of us, don't worry...:D I have to say well done to Bournemouth council/tourism/whoever - it was a great idea and very well organised. The hangover has just about gone now. Here's some pics from my phone. Amazing how many boats turned out - apparently there were 600 moored up.

The airshow I admit on Saturday was awesome. The Army helicopter display team was impressive.

Did you see the girl in the harness attached to a balloon in the gardens in the evening?

Stayed all day for the fireworks at 10pm, was sat right on the beach in front of the ship that was letting them off. I think as a finale they should turn the boat into one big fire cracker via remote control :p

Seriously impressed with how well the council pulled off the event. I thought with normal local council planning it'd all have gone titsup, but it didn't..
