Darren-K
Just seen an advert for http://nsandi.com/ endorsed by Bob geldoff ? whats he doing ? i never thought i would see Geldof and Alan sugar advertising like this ? maybe im reading too much into it but it seems wrong ,
garethr
Alan Sugar donated his fee to Great Ormond Street children's hospital. I guess the fact that it's for a government rather than a commercial organization makes a difference as well.

Darren-K
and........ its partly run in conjunction with Alistair Darling , so thats a big negative,i mean in 2008 does anyone trust the Labour government ? with the current financial climate ? i certainly dont., so yes, Bob geldof sells out. Darren-K
Where's the problem Darren? i just dont expect to see Bob geldof pushing such things,. im no expert,im no brains of britain Lbm but i was just shocked to see his face in the advert, and when i found out its partly operated ( or wholy ) by the government then it makes it worse . Lbm
It seems a very straight forward and upfront commercial enterprise for him. Not selling out. It's called earning a living, as has already been said. Punters have a choice where to place their savings. A Government backed scheme is not a totally unattractive option. Fair comment, but wasn't Northern Rock eventually owned by the government, and that went tits up?Northern Rock was nationalized after the commercial sector had screwed things up. No investment would be safer than National Savings. If the UK can't fulfill its financial obligations, then we really are in trouble
