ChrisD89
Hi everyone Just bought a Uk spec auto and discovered that the factory alarm and ECU have been replaced but have no idea what with! Just wondered if anyone had any advice on any good stand alone ECU's. What make? Where to get fitted and mapped?etc Cheers Chris Edited August 29, 2008 by ChrisD89 (see edit history)
JamieP
Speak to Ryan at http://www.2bartuning.com/
Homer
What makes you think it's been replaced? Can you get a picture of the ECU from the passenger footwell? Should be easy enough to identify. As mentioned already, Ryan.G is you man for mapping.
ChrisD89
Airbag light came on so had to take it to Toyota. Their computer couldn't read the ecu so said it must have been changed. Anyway will have a good look and see whats what before i go spendin money on it. Fun and games! cheers for the replies fae chris
Homer
Don't trust Toyota for a second, they haven't got a clue on these cars If you can get a pic of the ECU we can tell you what it is. (Pull off the sill trim on the passenger side, pull back the carpet in the footwell, remove the ECU cover (two 10mm bolts) and take a pic)

ChrisD89
Yeah think so. Will have to wait till my mechanic pal comes back from holiday and he can have a good look and see whats up. Anyway at least car runs fine so not all bad:)
Homer
Yep, definetly stock, unless it's been broken into (very unlikely)
