jonahjones26
why i ask do you live in birmingham or coventry?
michael
why i ask They consider you a higher risk than Admiral do, it happens, go with Admiral (and then curse them if you have claim). They can't be the cheapest for everyone, you are one of the unlucky ones
Snooze
Sky specialise in certain types of cars and drivers. Whilst modified Supras are certainly within their specialist knowledge in terms of cars, it is my belief that recently (last 24 months), the types of drivers that are here in the club has changed noticably. I think this is very good for the club, but I get the feeling that a lot of the newer members fall outside of Sky's "traditional" demographic of drivers that they insure, and this has led to a lot of the higher quotes that people have been reporting recently. It may be that Sky aren't the right insurer for you - the Admiral quote sounds okay, and you could try A-Flux or Green Light like Jacko suggests. If Sky were always the cheapest, then these other brokers wouldn't exist!!!
jacko
Also if you're thinking of going with Admiral, then give Bell a go, same company but often cheaper
Gaz6002
Sky have been great for me, very happy with both price and service. Did you ask to speak to Ollie? He's a member on here...
Franko
Im sure Sky do a price match also?
supra_aero
Im sure Sky do a price match also? dont think so. They were three or four times what I am paying, and would hardly budge on price for me.

JamesG
I phoned Sky for a quote last week for my Elise. They've been good in the past (for my Supra and my old Elise), but rubbish the last couple of years or so. They couldn't quote me and immediately forwarded me to some stupid insurance agency who took a load of details (except the car!) and then forwarded me to a load more insurance companies. It was a complete hassle and waste of time, and the agency kept phoning me back at work. I will never phone Sky again.
Safely Insured
Sky have quoted me £2k+ for my insurance.... even though my renewal with admiral is £940..... Hi, thanks for the reply to my PM. Unfortunately you didn't the criteria for our car club scheme as you only have one years NCB. We were unable to apply our usual discounts becasue of this, hence the expensive quote. Please try us again next year and we should be much more competitive. Ollie Sky Insurance

We have no schemes set up to take Elises hence why we were expensive/unable to quote you. The company we passed you onto was called 'Call Connections' This company is there for individuals who are having difficulty insuring a specialist car, or they have special circumstances. Did you ask them to stop phoning you? I think it a bit strong not to never to phone us back again based on one experience.. but it's your decision Ollie Sky Insurance
Paul
I'm 42, no claims or convictions, decent area/postcode, minor mods and it's a Supra yet Sky have never been able to touch Bell Direct and their prices, so who is the perfect Sky customer? BTW, Bell have always recognised mine as a MKIV TT never a MK3?
