Guru
Might I ask how this is a Cat D if it only needs a few hundred pound worth of parts and a small spray?
Whitesupraboy2
Might I ask how this is a Cat D if it only needs a few hundred pound worth of parts and a small spray? Easy insuraqnce companies dont buy 2nd hand parts, its all replaced with new bits and thats where the cost spirals up. also having the parts sprayed will cost a bit. Anees
Exactly mate.......... I mean Insurance companies wouldn't get a second hand rear qtr. They would have to get genuine, same with the door and the wing. A lot of bodyshops that do insurance work seem to have higher prices for insurance work too that are + Vat so a private job along with parts sourced from a breakers is much much cheaper. I'm sure when an insurance company looked to get this repaired, the bodyshop would want to use brand new dealer priced parts, paint the whole front end and both doors, just to blend the color in which would easily have cost more then what I am asking for the whole car. I know some are uneasy about a Cat D car, but I have been open and honest. I personally don't have any problem with a Cat D car as long as it is the right car with only panel damage.
