Zed
Has anyone changed from yellow billies to the KYB AGX's, what was the difference like? Is the softest setting on the KYB's softer than the billies? I have standard uk setup and am seriously considering the kyb's as they seem fantastic value for money considering they are adjustable, what would be the best aftermarket springs considering I want to maintain some comfort and don't want too much of a height reduction, ideally only about 20mm. Thanks for your replies.
sinbad
I went for them + Espilier springs and I love the setup. All I have to compare was my previous UK setup which was boat like soft. I have them on setting 2 (1 is softest) and they are great.

Zed
Sounds promising then, looks like my new 0% credit card is gonna get a bashing. Sinbad, got any side on pics of your car so I can see how low it is, how much do the Espilir springs drop the car by and how much do they cost ? I assume they are progressive rate. Cheers guys. Rajinder
I had yellow billes on the car when bought, j spec. Found the ride very firm and hard so switched to KYB AGX but left the sports pack springs. On the softest setting the ride is much more comfortable than billes but you suffer in high speed cornering. In my opinion the billes are much better than the AGX. I know many people will not agree with that but I have taken corners with the billes at amazing speeds which I cannot take with AGX on any setting. Zed
Cheers Rajinder, I'm quite surprised that the Billies are harder than the AGX's on any setting, but I think that will siut me. The sports pack springs you mentioned, are they the standard ones that came with the car or something different ? Cheers mate
Pete
I'm happy with my AGX and HKS springs.. transformed the handling from standard setup.
Terminator
I have never found the Blistien/ Eibach comb to be hard , but that is coming from JDM standard suspension. I know shome people refer to it as teeth shattering, can feel that personally. As for lowering it makes the car take a better flat or slightly nose down stance. It is certainly a very cost effective option.
Rajinder
Zed, Let me clear some misunderstanding. Billies are not harder than AGX on any setting. 1 and 2 settings are softer on AGX than the billes. 4th setting on AGX is on par with the billies. On 1 and 2 setting the car feels more like a saloon car than a sports car. In Japan when you bought a new Supra you had the option of a standard pack that is soft KYB and j spec brakes. You could go for the sports pack which included uprated springs with yellow billies and UK spec brakes. Our Supra had sports pack. The biggest advantage that AGX has over the billes is that they are adjustable. I kept the standard springs because I am not a great fan of lowering cars. I could have gone for eibach springs to lower the car but I did not. I am quite happy with AGX but some how I feel the car handled better with billes. Zed
Thanks for the replies guys, some very useful info there. I'm currently getting a quote from Dusty at MVP which should make the purchase even more cost effective.
