greddy smic

does anyone have any experience with running a greddy smic? was looking at replacing my tired stock intercooler for the greddy but after looking on the supra net FAQ section, i have been put off after reading that the greddy is not as efficient as the stock unit. is there any evidence to support this??

definately need to replace my intercooler by early next year at the latest, dont want to kick off the long running debate of smic vs fmic, but if there is evidence to support the fact that the greddy smic is cack then i may go for one of their front mount kits as an alternative.

any thoughts on the greddy smic?

The Greddy SMIC uses the same Spec R core design used in their top of the range 4 Row and 3 Row FMIC's, which are generally regarded as some of the best available for the Supra. The SMIC is 4 row and wider that the stock SMIC, so has a bigger cooling area. It also has cast end tanks that should flow better than the stock SMIC.

GReddy have designed it to be more efficient and claim their intercoolers are. It would need back to back tests of both to determine whether this is correct, but from the spec it should be. Likewise there is no evidence that I know of to back up the statement that it is not as efficient.
