RobSheffield
I sold my Alpine head unit on ebay on 6th July. Unit has been in my car and working for 3ish years now. It went for a mere £600 (my fault i suppose) Guy collected 10th July Guy contacted me today to say he has fitted it and it wont power up. He wants a refund. I sent a polite reply saying it may be best if he has an auto electrician investigate it. That way if its something as daft as a blown fuse, ill happily send him the money to cover the fuse and autoelectrician. Problem is the guy is likely to become an arse Do i have much chance of retaining my 100% feedback, and if i dont what can i do?
stevie_b
From what I've heard about ebay recently, it sounds like the odds are unfairly stacked in the buyer's favour. I'd try to keep the buyer on your side: explain that you don't want to see him out of pocket if it is faulty, hence the reason for you suggesting seeing a sparky. Alex
There are 2 leads at the back of an Alpine unit that plug into each other - looks odd - if they arn't it won't power up.
RobSheffield
Cheers Alex I went through absolutely everything with the guy, he said he had installed the same unit before. The unit was the IVA 310RB so it has a seperate 'brain' unit and three 2 metre long looms, plus all the satnav and coax cables. It also has seperate power feeds for lots of it etc.
Guest dangerousandy
Rob, if he has installed exactly the same one before, make sure he is not trying to pass off his old one as yours.

Pixelfill
I hope you had the good sense to record the serial number of the unit you sold him Rob. Sounds awfully suspicious to me Mike
jevansio
Ask him if he has re-connected his battery Rob Seriously ebay is full of scammers now, I'd rather sell on here for half the price than deal with some of the idiots on there
