Gaz6002
Yes I'm sitting here shitting myself as we speak. If a black hole opened up in say, Basingstoke, you wouldn't be any the wiser. I wouldn't worry, you'll probably get sucked off into another dimension anyway. Doesn't sound so bad now does it?
Thorin
It's the end of the world as we know it. And I feel fine.

alaing
, you'll probably get sucked off into another dimension anyway. Doesn't sound so bad now does it? Snooze
is any one else a little concerned as to what might happen, be aware these are quite long reads No. Those in the know have already pointed out that the media have blown this out of all proportion. Whilst small elements of matter that might act the same as a "black hole" may be created, they will be unstable within the collider and will disappear in microseconds or less. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7468966.stm
RedM
Black Hole on Earth eh. I think they were beaten to it by the creators of Sheffield.
gavin.starr
either way it might just give out a boring reading on a computer screen but there is allways the element of suprise, as the scientists are still not 100% sure on what is actually going to happen. must cast a fortune though to run all those electromagnets. we might all get to loot watches and toblerone if it blows up the swiss:p

I remember watching a progaramme on the discovery channel not so long ago about 5 ways mankind could destroy themselves. This seems similar, worryingly, about scientists creating a rapture (like a blackhole) and i went horribly wrong and creating a black inside the earth which killed everyone and the earth off. This can sound fictional but imagine the consequences if it went wrong?? I wont be here anyway, on September the 10th, i'll still be in the USA... ;-P

creative
Im always amazed at what humans can build. In essence its just a big pile of metal and what we can get this metal to do is fantastic. The human mind is indeed a wonderful machine and there are some very clever people on this earth.
