lee_kelsey
Guys, On the way home I noticed that all of a sudden I was only hitting about 0.8bar, I know that this morning It was around 1.1bar! I naturally checked the boost controller and it hadn't been changed! I am also hearing a loud 'whooosh' type noise as I ease off the throttle at high revs! NOTE: Its a different noise than that of my bov! and its only appeared today! I have checked pipes etc and all seems to be ok, when I blip the throttle cable I notice that the intake pipe which goes off into the drivers side wing 'clenches' not sure if this is normal! Please help, as I am a little worried about my baby!
Alex
I'd guess it was a small leak...not a blown hose... Mine dropped from 1.3 to .8 recently - it turned out that the boost gauge vac hose has a puncture...
lee_kelsey
So that would explain the louder whooshing noise? If it is this, is it something I need to get fixed at a garage NOW or will it be ok until I can get to a garage? (if you know what I mean!) Alex
I would just advise you not to floor it!! The map sensor will also be reading ,8 bar so the fueling will be right. Could be your bov leaking....how old is it?
lee_kelsey
My BOV is about 4 weeks old! Its an HKS SSQV! I did however notice a few spots of oil residue around the exit of the BOV, not sure what this means either! Thanks for your help Alex, more advice/help appreciated! (from anyone!) Branners
You sure the bov is adjusted correctly? My Blitz bov rattle the top nut loose so it was releasing boost early, Leon noticed it on a service and tightened it up and no problems since. lee_kelsey
Is there any way for me to reproduce the pressure as if I was driving the car? I have noticed that when the car is out of gear and I rev it, the turbos do not seem to spin up in the same way as when I am in gear! Is that clear as mud enough? Adam W
The turbos will only spin up when the turbo is under load.

The americans do it by using a baked bean can in the end of that pipe going into the wing with a tyre valve in the middle. Attach the valve to a compressor and then pressurise the piping and look\listen for any leaks.
paulrenn
Americans eat baked beans? Wow, they are not so uncultured after all ...
