I do, and waking up this morning was the worst so far, remember waking up faced down, with my head laying sidways on the pillow, woke up fine, but was so tired, i just wanted to stay in be, so i did, half awake and just relaxing.

Felt myself gradually getting weaker to move, thats usual when it happen, but today as i tried to force my way out i remember hearing something like 'electric charges' coming in from both sides of my head, really really loud that me head had a slight ache, was trying so hard to get out, i managed to move my right hand, remember catching my breath and drifting back into a sleep, anyone else get it? Really starting to do my head in. Aparrently is a slepping problem:blink:

I cant think of anything more terrifying than that mate, I feel for you. Although people knock it, hypnosis is a great way to help you sleep. Most I get is the falling and before you hit the ground jolting awake type thing, generally off waterfalls... wierdly exhilerating lol

Mods, not only does the forum need an "Ask Auntie" section for the more interesting relationship issues that Supra owners seem suspect to, but maybe an "Ask the Doc" one too, for the MKIV owning hypochondriacs to relax in whilst discussing their latest bizarre malaise :)

:rlol: :scare:

I'm not sure if it's this that you've experienced.

Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the bodily paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move.

It's happened to me a few times but a long time ago I'm relieved to say, it's extremely frightening.

I've heard that everyone will experience this at least once in their lifetime. :D

I've had this too, in fact quite a lot recently, it's pretty strange when it happens - a few moments of 'why the heck can't I move/properly wake up' then back to sleep for an hour  . From what I could find it's due to bad sleep patern and waking up while in a deep sleep cycle (sorry, bad explaination). It's only started happening since I started working a split shift (basically two sleep times and two work times per day).

early years were very scray, but now its not so bad, i used to be able to break out of them phyically but this one was the most strongest by far, i remember a tv show about it, really feel uneasy to say the name, but its called an entity attack i prefer to look on the scientific side of it:D

To be honest mate, I've just put it down to being knackered and your body crying out for a good rest. If you're waking up during a deep sleep cycle (REM state as merckx correctly pointed out) then you are simply not getting enough good sleep. I only get this when doing a split shift and trying to get 2x 3hr sleep a day. It's fine when on normal hours and get a good 6hrs+ kip.

Night terror and sleep paralysis are just BS terms that hide the truth.

What's really happening is that you are waking up while the aliens are experimenting on you.

F.A.C.T.

would explain those really bad head punching electirc charge sounds:d

narcolepsy can affect you just as you wake up or fall asleep,

you need to seek medical help as this could void your car insurance ;)

used to get the same thing when i was a teenager, used to come in from school and fall asleep on the couch, an hour later i would wake up but was unable to move, i could see members of my family walking through the living room and i tried to shout out for help but couldn't, very scary indeed, fortunately i haven't had it in a couple of years
