Are you sure admiral are insuring your car as an import?

 

Also any mods with Sky should be like for like replacment, they wont be with admiral.

Yep .... Definately insured as an import (my postcode is pretty good when it comes to crime rates etc).

 

Bodykit, Exhaust, Wheels and Filter declared. But like you said, no like-for-like replacement, and no agreed value option!

 

But I really need that £300!! It will cover the Wideband O2 sensor that I need now!! lol

Its a tough decision, one I too would have to think hard about, all you can do is ask sky if they can come up with a better price.

 

Also whats the excess like between the two?

Admiral is £100 + £250 voluntary (£50 excess for windscreen)

I just changed to Sky.

 

Similar quote as other insurers (for UK spec), but with agreed value option, like-for-like replacement, and a positive attitude to mods on car, and to mods that I might do.

Yeah I took out the extra agreed evaluation thing as well. Had heard too many bad stories of people having to argue with insurance companies over the value of their cars.

The original poll was purely for me to gauge why people chose Sky. However, in the not so distant future I will be conducting a survey to find out why people have/have not gone with Sky and to get some general feedback as to what people think of the scheme.

After much debating and looking at the quotes everyone have provided the club has decided to take on Sky Insurance (UIG) as the official club insurer. As the official club insurer they are devoted to offering our members the cheapest quotes possible and also to provide the best quality service too. Quite likely. Aren't Budget one of those who quote for a mk3 or make some other administration error that gives you a nice low quote but means your policy is invalid as soon as you try to claim?

Even when I had mine insured as a mk3 it wasn't that cheap. £290 for any insurance premium is unbeleivable where do you live benbecula and are 65 years old with a 10 mile a year policy

i decided to go with sky ... they where £400 squid more than elepahants 10 month plan (£1200 for 94 soop import Avs 17's, teni fully adjust suspension, kept on the road in a shite area and only having 2 years no claims) the only reason why i went with them is because you guys recomend them (could see that in the voting poll).

 

I spoke to Scott Wilson around 7 times going over everything and he was a real star... probally buy sky insurance a beer if i could....

Just insured with Sky. They were £40 quid more than Elephant (coming to £600), but cover my mods and gave me a guaranteed value of £10K on the car. I'm 27 with 8 years NCD.

 

Also insured my Rover VVC Coupe with Sky. Elephant wanted £500 with a £350 excess. Sky have done it for £460 with only a £100 excess.

I have been ripped off by Norwich Union for the last 5 years since I bought my new Supra aero N/A auto....renewal last week quote was £1220...Insured now with Sky for £840....excellent friendly service too so I am well happy.

I just got insurance with Sky for £636! Fully comp, protected NCB (+5 years), like for like mods, agreed value ... I'm 31 and park the car on the road.
