low oil pressure question

Ive done a search and found nothing which related to this so here goes guys.

 

I have an oil cooler and relocation kit fitted to my J-spec TT the link is below to the same kit.

The kit uses a peugeot oil filter which I found a little strange, and im concerned that the oil pressure is too low and was unsure if it could be due to the filter or cooler.

 

I have a defi oil pressure gauge fitted to a union bolt and am using Valvolene VRI racing 5/50 oil.

On warm tickover the car sits at around 1.3 bar and on spirited driving im only seeing 3.75-4bar max.

 

Is there any way that the oil filter or cooler could be lowering the pressure. I would have thought 4 bar is nothing to worry about on a normal car but my Supra is running over 400bhp on hybrids so I cant really compare it to a peugeot 306 or the like. All my pals supras seem to him around 8-9bar on spirited driving.

 

Can anyone shed any light on the subject please.

Afaik 1.3 bar is acceptable, as is 4 bar. Ae those pressures hot or cold, as obviously its gonna be higher when cold.

Why are you running a pug oil filter? Didnt you think to get a Toyota one when you fitted the kit? Theyre only 9 quid...

Pressures sound fine to me. What is the oil pipe size though? Most el cheapo kits use far too small an internal diameter hose and fittings. Filter should have an anti drain back valve in it.

The sensor is mounted in a Lexus union bolt.

I dont know what the pressure was before the oil cooler cos i fitted the oil pressure gauge at the same time.

I cant remember off hand Chris the Diameter of the pipe but I think the fittings are -12an so I would imagine the pipe is around 16-17mm. What do you mean by an anti drain back valve. If I was to go single should I be concerned about the pressure.

These presures are when hot. Im using a Pug filter as thats the thread pattern where the filter attatches for some crazy reason or I would have used a Toyota 1.

I thought id question it as ive read loads of threads about people having 8 bar of oil pressure on cold start up and 8-9 bar on spirited driving. TBH If Chris Wilson recons its fine then thats all the reasurance I need really.
