EssexBoy
I was going to use the Denso IK22 as im running BPU but then a tunner who does alot of supra tunning said not to use them and to go with the NGK equivilant of the IK22. This was something to so with the IK22s having a very small tip and the smallest amount of soot on them will effect the cars performance whereas the NGK have a bigger tip and stronger spark. Can I have your tried and tested opinions on what plug to go for thanks

Nic
The IK plugs use iridium electrodes which are very small, all iridium plugs are the same, iridium plugs are the best to use. Your tuner is talking nonsense. See FAQ section here http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41927
EssexBoy
The NGK he suggested were the BK series I think and were iridium also. He was saying something about the size of the electrode or something is smaller on the IK series and therefore can have effects after a period of use like someone has stated. Does this sound correct or still just person preference?
Tricky-Ricky
Personal preference, i would say, which is about how i would sum it up,but i will add that your mechanics reasons are flawed;) if you read the guide you will see the reasons why some including myself chose copper plugs, cheaper, more robust if you do happen to encounter the odd bit of det, and in any case if your just running BPU you should not encounter any problems, its only when you are dealing with mapped ECUs that there is any real concern of generating det of any consequence, unless there is something drastically wrong with your engine/ECU/fuelling. merckx
These work perfectly for BPU, around £11 for six at Brown Brothers motor factors. Why pay more? NGK - BKR7E (6097) - gap 0.7mm
