edge
OOh jim's been a busy boy when ive been watching all the great bands. Thanks for all the comments guys and girls There's some serious cleaning up to do. How far are you going to go down the road of restoration? It was going to be a restoration just to get the structural work solid again as general condition is not that bad and quite solid. But as i can use a spray gun ok i may treat it to a bit of a blow over. Bright yellow or orange could look good. hey guys i asked my pal today about the su carbs his reply!! "petrol is the fuel of saton!" sorry hes a diesel man:( he did say tho he has alot of wee bits you may still need i gave him the link to your thread so he will be watching for sure alex Thanks anyway mate. The other plan was to go down the elderbrock route with a different inlet manifold and single carb as jim has had a few issues in the past with the su's needing constant balancing but that will further down the line of the project. Dont worry when its done we will bring up to the chippers meet.
Jimmer
...Little update... So the engine is out and we've been busy, replacing Gaskets, degreasing, painting etc. Still more to do...but i have decided not to strip the engine anymore than it is currently as it was running well enough and i know ill have to buy stroker kits and other expensive things! Also the Crank pulley will have to wait untill the engine is back in before it comes off...if it comes off! N/S Footwell removed ready for new parts. Test fit. Some before and after of the pedal boxes. Flywheel surface when removed. And now:) We have decided on a colour too, didn't want the normal green so.....Red it is. Hopefully it may 'slightly' resemble this:

edge
Jim found out when the conversion was done in 1996 it was quite involved and they stripped all the body off and reworked the chassis hense why it seemed pretty clean. Result!

Like the old skool series 2's! The V8 conversion is easy peasy, theres plenty of complete running V8s and conversion kits for series Landys on egay. nice project thought i was the only one to own a supra and a landy here is my beast running portal axles Nice Landy! I esp like the brown Nova saloon in pic 2!

Jimmer
Ok, so we braved the cold for some landy photos and action... Got the new Outrigger Welded in and undersealed, panels are very cheap, cost me just over a tenner! Got some cleaning and painting done, using stone chip paint for these parts, costs £7 per spray tin but works really well and should look good. Some of the heather matrix panels sprayed, The engine is coming along really well and is pretty much complete and ready to drop in. Started to fabricate the transmission tunnel, cant use the standard pannels due to manly V8 that has moved in! Windscreen is done, newly painted and new glass fitted. I have also repaired and modified the front panel, Before (only pic i could find): After: The extra holes are to allow extra air flow to the engine, before the only air the engine could breathe was air that had passed through the rad and was hot hot. Also replaced the bottom corners as these were corroded to fook! Started some painting today, just to get an idea, what do you think?! As this is a Supra forum i better post a pic of the Sup, Resting whilst the crap weather remains
