Me and a friend, another fellow supra owner (suprajim) have started to work on the landrover he has had sat off the road for the last few years.

Spec -

-Lightweight series 3

-FFR Fitted for radio truck

-Ex-military served from 1979 - 1984

-Conversion to 3.5v8 from SD1

-Rangerover diffs/running gear

-We think it has a rangerover 4 speed manual box in but unsure of which.

-Straight through exhaust system with cherrybombs

-Hard top or canvass roof or none at all if you so wish.

No disrespect to those involved in this project, but there are Landrover forums for this project. I thought this was a MKIV supra forum.

We know this is a Supra forum, We are both Supra owners and thought you guys might be interested in someting a little different.

Anyway...Looking forward to another weekend of Landrover dissection:)

Exactly. It's an interesting diverse project.

Supras can get boring all the time. I'm looking forward to seeing something different.

Don't let these miserable sods put you off keeping us up to date.

Good luck with the restoration.

My dad had loads of Land Roves while I was growing up and I learned to drive in an ex-military Series 3! Love them!

Looking forward to seeing some more pictures soon.

I is wel jelus. (sic)

I had two S3 Landys and the plan was to renovate one into a tuned V8 in metallic blue with white leather seats, no top at all except the windscreen. I wanted to have "spitfire" type exhausts coming from the sides of the front wings but I reckon that would have been illegal. Sadly, they became a huge money pit and had to go.

Good work, keep us posted. (my wife never bought me eggs, sausage and beans while I was working on them)

...This weekends update...

When the engine swap was done the bulkhead needed to be modified slighty, they decided to use a hammer and it looked crap! So ive cut away the damaged area and am going to make a new trans tunnel from scratch.

The rusty panel on the left will be coming out but to know where to cut i need the new part so it will have to wait untill next weekend.

To better access brake pipes, body work ect and because it only took 10 mins I got the engine out.
