rob_boi yes i purchased my Supra from Cambridge and by the sound of your description it is likely to be the one that you have seen.

I would not like to say if she would pass or fail an MOT but can say when she was running OK there was no noises that where out of place and handled like a dream.

As for the running of the engine i am not sure whats wrong she still starts and holds tick over but when you put the pedal to the floor she splutters and backfires. To build up the revs you have to slowly tap the accelerator until she reaches about 3000 revs then she is fine and revs OK until she returns to tick over. I think it may be something to do with the air flow system but unsure. There are apparently 40 ish issues that may cause this to happen according to the workshop manual.

Hi Mate,

As a former Zed man I can't recommend these enough! ;):D

Very capable cars with good performance and at bargain prices these days! :)

Is this the LWB 2+2 or a SWB version?

Would love another but would want a manual SWB for trackdays.

Best of luck with the sale though as seems an absolute bargain IMHO.

Cheers.

Thanks for message and yes i am sure some one will end up with a bargain when Zeb is put back on road. I can say that i have not been in any other car especially one of this age that has the performance and handling that my Zeb has.

The Zeb is a 2 + 2 but like the Supra the back seats are a token juster??

My wife was once after a none targa top 300ZX SWB manual. Someone told me they were quite rare, is that right? It looked a bit different to the normal 300ZX, so I guess it was a *BIT* unusual?

Yes they are quite rare and more sought after although an article I was reading said the pure 2 seater was the most common version produced?! :search:

From my time with Zed's I came to find the rariest variants are the SWB(pure 2 seater) slicktop and the convertible (only available as a n/a from the factory although some have been fitted with the TT lump).

Prices on these make them a very tempting proposition although I believe serious tuners are on the decline as they are quite specialist.

Sorry for stealing the thread and best of luck with the sale as these are very underrated and true performance bargains! :D

Its always nice to hear some ones views especially when they are so clearly passionate about high performance motors. The rearest 300zx that you can get as far i am aware of is the fixed hard top 2 seater of which i have only ever seen one.

As you state these cars are very understated and to my knowledge can keep up or beat most modern performance cars of the same spec. Before i took my beast off the road i ran against an r33 single Turbo, which dare i say was left wanting. I have also gone against BMW series 3 mtec, which was also found wanting. Theres some thing about old performance cars that make other road users want to try there luck. Always promise my self that i wont race but as usual the horns just pop out of my head.

Would defo rate the 300 as a true performance car and when properly put together and maintained, these will give many a good performance car a run for their money! :sly:

Just ask a certain ex-Ipswich Town footballer (can't remember his name as football isn't my sport!) who had a red Ferrari that raced me on the A12 in the early hours of the morning!!! :innocent:

Recall he lost after reaching 140leptons!!! ;)

We all get the horns and under certain cirmumstances that's fine although being part of the Whifbitz Time Attack team, it'll be trackdays only for me from now on as it's too easy to lose your license in these cars!!!

Back on topic and a big bump for anyone after a very good performance car at a bargain price!!!
