Bobbeh
They wont put a 2.4 V8 in it, you need to remember thats a race spec engine, and anything road wise will be different displacement and tuned for road use.
Bobbeh
285/35/19 rubber on the rear, can't see what it is on the front but definately narrower. Can't see the final production car having wheels/tyres that big though! Why not? The Corvette comes with 19s and 20's as standard I think. Remember this car is supposed to have 500bhp so it needs something large to put the power down with.

I'm not suggesting they drop a bloody F1 engine in the car ffs! But I think they'll want to tie it in (as I said) with the F1 program in some way - that may mean having the same size and configuration of engine as the F1 car to give the impression of it being the same engine. If the engine is totally different to the F1 car then they won't be able to have any marketing promotion or tie in between the two.
Alex
Yep the V8 or V10 thing is the big question mark and it's entirely down to what format of engine is used in F1, in the year of it's launch, 2007.
Bobbeh
What, so you still think they'll put the samesize lump in a road car as they would the F1 car? It wont perform. It'll need more torque at lower revs for road use.
Aerotop Dave
Won't a V8 have enough torque?
Alex
Note the word FORMAT As in A V8 or A V10...expect ~5L Displacement.
Bobbeh
Won't a V8 have enough torque? Sure , but you were talking about a 2.4 litre that generates its power at 18k rpm! totally impractical for road use. A 3-4 litre V8 would be more appropriate. Size and configuration. That's all I said! Not in any other way like the F1 engine, just a useful tie in with the F1 program if the litres and the cylinder configuration is the same. Bobbeh
I can't help but think they want to tie it all in with their F1 program in some way. The F1 car has a V10 so I'd expect to see that, but with the F1 engine regs being changed (2.4 V8s wasn't it?) then maybe they'll go for that. This is what I was refering to 2.4 V8. Sure, dimension size and cyl config may be the same.
