RedM
http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hennesseyperformance/ItemDetail.php?Item_ID=319&cart=LDWVCApA&DoThis=Hennessey+Venom+GT&ActionReq=Where With a power to weight ratio of just 2.7 lbs per bhp Hennessey estimates that the Venom GT could attain 0 to 100 km/h times in less than 2.5 sec. and a 0-300 km/h time of around 14 seconds. Company founder, John Hennessey, is careful to point out that the Venom GT is not being built as a 'Veyron Slayer'. Hennessey point out, saying, 'The Veyron is an ultra fast and ultra luxurious grand touring car which also happens to be quicker and faster than any other road car, except for our Venom 1000 Twin Turbo SRT which beat the Veyron earlier this year from 0-200 mph. The Venom GT will be a much more engaging sports car to drive by challenging the driver with 1000+ HP in a chassis that is nearly 1500 lbs lighter than the Veyron.' Gaz6002
Why dont we have companies like Hennessey performace in this country?! Because we don't have the market for people to sell the finished product to.

Gaz6002
Because we dont have the fuel prices to run the finished product;) Yep, in short, there isn't a market for it. It's worth noting though that Europe (UK included) does have some pretty impressive chassis design and suspension manufacturers. You don't get a BHP figure with these though so people brush that under the carpet
SteveR
Nice Widowmaker though, surely? Assuming they manage to build one.

Bobbeh
Why dont we have companies like Hennessey performace in this country?! Careful with your words... I've read nothing but stories about ripping off customers and dodgy dealings from the Supraforums message board. (we have companies like that already ) But yeah, would be nice to see some of the cars they make
Jazzy
Power: 1000 bhp @ 5,200 rpm 1100 lb-ft torque @ 4,200 rpm How does that get any power down with that amount of torque!!!
Mike
I'm guessing it doesn't.
Swampy442
Awesome figures, however I doubt a 1000hp car could be "an engaging sports car to drive" more a lethal killing machine for anyone without reflexes like Lewis Hamilton or at the very least Fernando Alonso... chris burford
Power: 1000 bhp @ 5,200 rpm 1100 lb-ft torque @ 4,200 rpm How does that get any power down with that amount of torque!!! It couldnt i remember jeremy clarkson saying that Brabus mercedes was absolutely useless and that was 600 brake with just over 700 torques and im guessing that weighs slightly more than that exige to aid traction lol. Pete
Why dont we have companies like Hennessey performace in this country?! We'll just have to settle with designing word leading chassis and suspension...like the one that car is based on.

Bobbeh
... all figures produced on a downhill dragstrip dyno of course Its unrealistic to think that anything not done in the UK is real
