Nic
The 9005/HB3 are the high beam bulbs, 9006/HB4 are the low beam. Only way would be to reduce the diameter of the body of the bulb or open up the collar in the headlights.

kint
Thanks for the response, lads! The 9005/HB3 are the high beam bulbs, 9006/HB4 are the low beam. Only way would be to reduce the diameter of the body of the bulb or open up the collar in the headlights. If I reduce the diameter of the bulb, would it affect in any way the sealing of bulb with the collar(there is a rubberseal @ the bulb)?? I opened up the headlight collar quite successfully. So you just trimmed the collar? Is this way better, do you know? Cheers

Just do the dips and put LED's in the sidelights. Save the UK set for when you get UK glass units when you've had enough of polishing J spec yellow out. Jamesy W
Rite ive got problems, ive just bought some 9005 HID's and i cant fit them in my headlight because the prongs on the bulbs are too big. Help?! My cars J-Spec I just finished fitting mine ten minutes ago, I had similar issues, what you need to do is push the prongs in as hard as you can then twist it, can be a bit tricky on the passengers side, I ended up taking the battery out. Middle = dipped. Inside are the main beams. Little globs between fogs and dipped are sidelights. As James says they can be tricky.
jacko
Well theyre in now, but now quite how theyre sposed to be. I had to unscrew the little ring that holds the bulb in place, stick the bulb in and then screw the ring back on again, at least theyre in though
kint
As you said, as long as they're in and working.. I'm waiting for my clear lenses before I'll be fitting mine..I wanna change the lenses, paint the insides in satin black and then fit HID:eyebrows: Should be easier fitting them with the lights taken of the car.. Anyone with more info on trimming the bulbs?
jacko
Well hopefully they'll go straight in, but if not you can just trim a little bit off the prongs
imi
I bought a set of H3 from a member on here and they will not fit the lights cause of the collar of the holder of the fog lights is very specific (and air tight).
monkey3
I opened up the headlight collar quite successfully. Was it difficult? Turn out ok? They don't fog up do they? I've just bought some 9006 under the impression they were 9005.
