Steve W2
Toyota I didn't know that imports had coded keys? Neither of mine have. Not sure about the UK's.

Faye
Some of the later Supes have central locking keys, so they would need programming in some way wouldn't they?
supra-alex
Yes Darling But Has Anyone Actually Had A Set Done ?
terawua
I had central locking on the key for my import when I got it... irrelevant now as I have Cat 1 alarm which does it all for me!
Faye
Yes Darling But Has Anyone Actually Had A Set Done ? Maybe "darling" you should just ask Toyota. My comment was directed at Steve who didn't think there were coded keys
geoffvalenti
Yes Darling But Has Anyone Actually Had A Set Done ? That's a bit patronising Alex Faye was only trying to be helpful. Treating members, especially longstanding ones, in that way, is a good recipe to not get any other questions answered. Hopefully you didn't mean it as it read. It just seemed very rude. blert596
Hi, Further to Steves post I have only one key for my 94 import Supra. Apparantly its has an immobiliser fitted, although I have no idea how to tell. I have central locking as well. What info would I need to take to Toyota to get a spare cut and "coded(?)" for the immobiliser? Cheers
Steve W2
I am pretty sure you could get this done from letting Toyota know the chassis number. They would be able to code it for you as well from that information I guess. If you have an aftermarket alarm you don't use it anyway do you? IIRC I think the UK standard alarm is Thatcham approved, nothing to do with this thread but interesting none the less
SimonB
Imports don't have any form of alarm or immobiliser as standard, you can get keys cut at any key cutting place. They did have remote locking, but as someone has pointed out, you pretty much have to fit a CAT 1 alarm/immobiliser to get insurance anyway and that will have remote locking.
