How do you remove the tailgate?

I found that the easiest way is to remove it with the hinges still attached - pull the headlining down at the back of the car to reveal the 2 nuts on each side, undo these and then lift the hatch clear.

Having the hinges on also makes it easier when refitting IMO,

You'll need to undo the lifters too obviously.

Where are these plugs? under the headliner or inside the tailgate?

Inside the tailgate. I found the one on the drivers side very easy, but I couldn't unclip the passenger side so ended up having to cut the wires before soldering them back together when replacing the tailgate.
