hadyn
Quick question. When fitting the blitz 2nd decat does the O-ring type gasket that goes on the flange that mounts to the first cat do you just leave it free when fitting or do you need to stick it to the flange? hadyn
Right fitte today no problems. However the decat doesnt seem to meet up flange to flange with the 1st cat but instead relies on the o ring gasket to make up the small gap between the decat and 1st cat flanges? Is that right or do both decat and 1st cat need to be flange to flange? Car seems to run fine, no blowing etc.

simbasupra
any chance of a clearer pic?
hadyn
You should be able to see the gap between the two flanges. Within that the o-ring type gasket is fitted which mates to the first cat.
hadyn
My main question is do I need to tighten any further (gasket feels tight)?
Tricky-Ricky
If its all tweaked up tight and its not blowing then it should be fine.
hadyn
If its all tweaked up tight and its not blowing then it should be fine. Thats good news. I just find it weird as I've never come across an exhaust part where the two flanges dont completely meet up.
hadyn
Anyone else have any thoughts about this fitment?
AndyT
Doubt you'll be able to compress the gasket fully bud. As long as the gap is even all round it's sealed and should be good. My only thought was that you tightened the other end first and not left enough play to tighten that flange but since it's not blowing it's not a concern. Quick question. Does the gasket not sit in a recess in the flange? I haven't taken one apart.
