dangerous brain
I think my aircon pump has seized up does anybody know what fan belt auxilliary belt to use that takes the aircon pump out of the equation ie a shorter belt that will fit without the aircon pump. dangerous brain
its a PK1865 made by Gates,I got an 1863 and that fitted no bothers. Was about £20 from A1 motor spares but I assume most motor factors etc will carry them in stock.
Swampy442
So you just go to a motor factors and quote that part number?
AndyT
So you just go to a motor factors and quote that part number? Yep. Generic sizes. Once had a sub stranded in Plymouth because of a belt. Sorted through Kevin Cooper motorfactors.
simbasupra
just tried the part number in the gates website: http://www.gates.com/index.cfm and it is not recognised, that part number might be old?
dangerous brain
well i got one a week ago so its not all that old lol In fact I now have one spare as it wasn't the aircon pump seized it was my crank pulley knackered so my original belt is back on. Which one do they class the auxy belt as bud? The numbers are no where near similar are they?

Every belt is listed as "timing" or "cam" though. They probably don't do the auxy's. Confusing though.
hadyn
Is changing the fan/aux belt that easy then? The belt costs just under 50 quid from Toyota right?
dangerous brain
Its a bit of a pain but a decent sized bar helps. Before you take the old one off either phone picture it or lock in your mind the belt routing as its not 100% obvious where it goes when you come to fit the new one. Like I said I have a spare one now.
Swampy442
Yeah its an easy job, 14mm long spanner and away you go. After doing it myself cant believe I paid Toyota over 100 quid for the same job...
