bolarbag
What would be the best glue like material to attach Carbon Fibre to Sheet Aluminium? The Carbon Fibre is pre resin, so just the actual material Maybe a question for Angrak(I'm sure he's a CF guy)
Ewen
Assuming you are going to impregnate the cf weave with resin afterwards anyway, I'd key the aluminium well and then use epoxy resin to laminate the cf fabric to the alloy sheet in one go...a coat of epoxy resin on the alloy, lay the cf on top, another coat of epoxy resin and then consolidate with a suitable metal roller...further layers of resin can be added as the previous ones go off. Any adhesive you use to stick the cf cloth onto the alloy will spread up through the cf fibres, probably spoiling the look you are after, and almost certainly going to give a very uneven surface. bolarbag
An undertray and front lip/spoiler combo
Swampy442
So is the carbon purely for show and not strength? One thing to note is that carbon and aluminium form a cell due to cathodic reeaction, and it will weaken it. Maybe a piece of fibreglass inbetween? Theres some wicked epoxys to use however they are expensive. The key to bonding is in the prep of the ally.
TLicense
3M 9323 A/B will do the job just fine.
bolarbag
There are quite a few studies using this method, cheers Tony always a wealth of knowledge!!

Angarak
... Maybe a question for Angrak(I'm sure he's a CF guy) I've never had to do it mate so couldnt recommend anything off the top of my head, when I make stuff its laid up in a mold using resins. CF wont hold up well to stone chips which the underside of the splitter/undertray combo would be subject to. When I've made stuff for rally cars like sump guards, we use Kevlar as it is more durable than CF. When it comes to functional splitters, we have a product that is used to make signs (its name escapes me), its light, about 3mm thick, stiff and available in a range of colours. If your after functionality more than aesthetics I could PM some info if you like.
dangerous brain
I can get aircraft structural adhesives from work that will bond pretty much anything to aluminium
