jevansio
Cam covers removed, I think there was an indication that in a previous life the best oil hadn't been used as there was black gunge in there (I think that's what that means). jevansio
Couple more shots, you can see the cooler I was using as a PS cooler where the passenger light was, I think it was an autobox cooler off a UK car. This was replaced with a new small cooler when the conversion was done.
jevansio
The next step was to remove the engine. I was hoping when the engine was out the entire bay was going to be sprayed black but that didn't happen . PS that's GeordieSteves car before some vandal scum got their hands on i Here's my old engine out:
jevansio
A couple of bits that weren't part of the original spec were a Greddy inlet and I upgraded the non DBB T74 that was included in the deal to a small GT4088R DBB with 0.68 hotside. This was to improve my low down response as I didn't want a big lag monster.
jevansio
There are no pics of the actual block & head build as they were pre-built items supplied by Michel, so we'll jump to the assembly of parts onto the block & head. 1st the inlet manifold, what a PITA it is keeping that & the cam covers shiny, sometimes wish I hadn't gone for the bling look :
jevansio
Next on was the fuel system:

jevansio
The next couple of pics show the exhaust setup I went for. The manifold is the Sound Performance copy of the HKS T4 manifold. The wastegate is the HKS 60mm. The downpipe again is Sound Performance, but I opted for the wastegate to be fed back into the exhaust to reduce noise. This pic shows the downpipe heatwrapped with the EGT & O2 sensors in. I eventually moved the EGT probe pre-turbo as the reading I was getting was about 200 deg below the pre-turbo reading & hence pretty useless. jevansio
Nearly read to drop the engine back in now, last thing was to fit the manifold & turbo. Again the manifold was heatwrapped.
jevansio
Loving the work bud... Cheers Danno, might leave it at that for tonight. Still got a shed load of stuff to upload before I get to the car in it's current state . Should be easier to update the thread once I get to that point. DannoSupra
Its always an inspiration looking at other people's builds!!!
jevansio
Next step was to drop the engine back in. Bits & pieces in the engine bay were painted black to tidy them up. The original radiator remained in until the new Koyo radiator turned up. Then the engine went back in: Right I'm off for a couple of pints , will update more later

jevansio
The next step was to continue bolting more of the anciliaries on. I went for a cheap set of bling pulleys initially, bad move, they shredded a Kevlar Auxillary Pulley within a week. So I went back to the stock pulleys, I'll prolly get a set of Unorthadox Pulleys later.
jevansio
Next the FMIC was hooked up. You can see the blue oil cooler to cool the engine oil as well as the silver power steering cooler (just) on the right. The PS was rather large & was swapped for a slightly smaller unit (but it mounted in the same place). The BOV is a Teal item, I love it, awesome sound & looks pretty cool too (esp as you can see it through the front bumper vent).

jevansio
My cone filter was mounted where the old SMIC was located. It was great for drawing in cool air, but eventually the filter was covered in crap from the road. I've since moved it to the engine bay & will be building a cold air box along the lines of the one Rich (UK-Rich) made.
jevansio
A couple of shots underneath of the exhaust. The 4" HKS system hangs very low so efforts were made to bring it up a bit. Still hangs low today but he-ho, I guess that's the price of having a lovely exhaust note
jevansio
Some closeup shots of the GT4088R turbo. The rubber water lines although high temp, proved to be problematic & were later replaced with proper fixtures & fittings.

jevansio
These are the final shots of the car after the single install. I'll do a summary of the events I went through getting the car mapped as some of you may recall, it wasn't plain sailing. I've also got the brake & suspension setup to cover and I should be nearly uptodate
