cheekymonkey
My A6 is now out of warranty, and I've decided to keep it and perform some modifications to give it a new lease of life. It's going for a remap on saturday for more power, but I want to improve the handling as well. At the moment it really wallows around corners, especially when compared to the supra! I can get Koni FSD shocks for this car for not too much money, but they don't come with springs, so I am guessing that this would help the handling but not change the look of the car. http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=i&p=261721004003&part=5_Audi_A6_Saloon_KONI_FSD_Kits_Automatically_Adjusting_Shock_Absorbers However I have always thought the car looks very high (see pic) is it worth lowering the car even if I wasn't changing the wheels? Bit OT I know, but I know there's so much knowledge on here
Getrag
Just careful you dont hurt the resale value, its a lovely car as it is. I would be tempted to leave it. The whole reason I love my other car is so I can drive it really easily, in comfort and not be TOO fussed about every pothole and so forth. You could always give it a couple of visual touches to bring it up to date. Subtle tints, debadge, newer audi alloys. Your car of course, just my 2p. grahamc
rear boot lip, some nice wheels, but I would leave the rest standard... nice comfortable car!

I certainly wouldn't want to go too mad with anything, and anything I do would probably be reversed if I sold it, suspension wise. I will carry on having a think
Pabs
I used Koni FSD's and Eibach springs on my Leon Cupra, and they were great! Didn't lower the car too much (think about 10-15mm) and were MUCH better than adjustable coilovers that I had previously.

Pabs
The ride on the FSD's was, IMO, great! Not harsh like the coilovers at all. Even the missus said how much better it was than my previous suspension. Not sure whether or not it was my old suspension at fault though - I had FK Highsport coilovers so not the best in the world. Only thing that did confuse me is some garages/experts said that the FSD's should be used at OEM ride-height only, and others said that lowering springs were fine.?!?! It seems like a lot of people are using FSDs with Eibach springs with no ill effects. We'll see
cheekymonkey
Another quick Q - if I were to change the wheels from 16" to 18" would I need to keep the same offset of ET45?
cheekymonkey
Well, she certainly needs a clean but I'm happy with the new wheels. Car feels more sporty already http://web.hisser.org/audi/newrims.jpg
