Help needed installing engine - Reading area again!

This isn't going well! The engine and gearbox has been sat on the drive for 7 weeks now waiting to be installed. My dad and brother in law were due down the last few weekends but due to my fathers dodgy knee and my bro in law starting a new business they're not going to be around as I'd hoped.

So, this is a desperate request for help for one or two local chaps to assist in dropping the engine and box into the car. I only really need some hands and eyes to help guide it in and to operate the engine hoist, there's no way I can safely do it on my own...

I'm more than happy to cover any any costs getting here and to pay for your time. It should only be a couple of hours work.

I'm not local but let me know when you are doing it and I'll pop down and help if I can. Picked up a few tips helping Chris sz and Trig with their engine swaps.

Thanks very much Dave, it's very much appreciated. The drop in should be quite simple (famous last words!).

Hopefully there are some people who are a little more local (don't want to put people out too much), but if not I'll be in contact

when are you hoping to do it Darryl, I could give you a hand if I am free :)

Thanks very much Gary, any weekend is good (provided there's not a major event on :D )

Count me in, if need be :)

Gav, you're an absolute legend (who probably wants his trailer back :D ), but I couldn't possibly expect you to give up another afternoon to help me out.

The offer is there if you need it :) (And mel told me what you asked her at Ace, and the answer is NOTHING)

Mel was supoosed to keep it quiet, women - never trust them :D Already got you something, it's very boring and a bit dorky, but will hopefully be something you can make use of in the future :)

I am away from 8th August to 24th August, but outside those dates shouldn't be a problem

Thanks again gary :) I'm hoping to get this fitted sooner rather than later, so this weekend would be the only possible for you. If anyone else can offer help either this weekend or anything following it'd be ideal :)

Wow, thanks for all the offers chaps, I wasn't expecting that! Very much appreicated

With hindsight this weekend might be a bit soon., I still need to get the engine out of the trailer, the sump off and beaten back into shape, oil & filter change (obviously :D ) and a general clean up done.

So, who's available on August 9th or 10th? Ideally I'd just like to drop the engine into place, fit the prop (easy job) and fit the diff (easy job, but impossible on my own due to weight). I'm about 1 minute from J11 on the M4 (next road over from the Reading meet site)

I've had the engine in and out of the Tiger more times than I care to remember on my own. As long as you do it very slowly and a bit at a time it's fine. You just need someone to shout when you get near to squashing something vital like a brake line. ;)

I don't know if it applies to the Supra, but I found it easier to raise the rear of the Tiger.
