Steviekid
I've still got an idle issue with my car. It had a (universal) o2 sensor fitted in January which seemed to very temporarily sort but problem but I think it's getting worse now. When I first start the car you get a real whiff of petrol for a while if you've got the window open. Cold idle is ok but one it heats up it continually bounces between 750 and 1000 rpm. You can also hear it "putting" from the exhaust but it never gets to the point of stalling. This used to only happen when you restarted the car after it was turned off for five or ten minutes but it's getting more frequent. Once you're moving your fine. Living where I do I'm fairly limited with garages hence the reason I was considering taking it to Toyota. Is this something they should be able to deal with? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMOEqpSRDCo Edited July 28, 2008 by Steviekid Added youtube link (see edit history)
Jim_1979
NO.... seriously mate, no! lol. They probably know less about the car than you. Try to find a decent garage that know what they're on about. Even if you have to travel a little. It'll still be cheaper than taking it to Mr T. I had my Mr2 turbo in a few years back for a little work (I didn't know a decent garage at the time) and they said there was something wrong with the clutch because it was very "grabby" ... of course it was! It wasn't a standard one in there! lol
