AdzC
Hello people, After seeing a number of threads on here with regard to people wanting to source 18" wheel sets and/or specifically BBS LM wheels I contacted the chap from BBS LM reps with the view to buying a set for my Supra. He advised me that he would need 5 orders to manufacture an 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 set with a custom offset for the group buy. These could be supplied at a cost of £550 and £40 delivery. Each set will require a £100 deposit and will take approximately 15-20 weeks to be manufactured and despatched. I have had to get authorisation from Homer in order to advertise this as a group buy. I will not be making any money from this and need 4 more people at the minimum to come in with me. Payments will be made to JJ at BBS LM Reps directly. The wheels can be seen on the link above and are for the silver centre and polished rim only (No tyres are included). If 10 or more people come in then the price will be even cheaper. I would be grateful if anybody with these wheels on a Supra could post some pictures on here for me and if possible specify which offset front and rear you have so as I can specify this with the order. Any questions please let me know as I am sure I have missed something. Edit: I forgot to add that each set comes with a 12 month warranty against paint defects including paint flaking and the wheels cracking.
RobSheffield
I have a feeling you are going to regret this. Everybody wants decent wheels but nobody ever wants to pay for them!

AdzC
I have a feeling you are going to regret this. Everybody wants decent wheels but nobody ever wants to pay for them! They are a decent wheel and a fraction of the price a genuine BBS wheel would cost for the same look. They look loverly, one of my fav wheel:cool: I think they look awesome on a MKIV Supra after seeing some of the cars on here that have them. How about a nice set for your new project? kosmic
Just as a side note, i ordered a set from JJ back in March that didnt materialise after the quoted 12 weeks, he did return my deposit after weeks and weeks of calls, letters, emails.... Thanks for that but to be fair he did say from the start to me that it would only be viable for him to get them in the correct spec for the Supra if he had a minimum of 5 buying. All correspondence from him has been prompt and he has been used plenty of times by the VAG chaps.
Ben-san
I'm very interested - I've been pining for a set of genuine LMs for a long time. Will do some digging for feedback from a mate who's been in the VAG scene for as long as I can remember. He's a mod on a major forum, so I'll report back for us all. kosmic
I was prowling around on uk-mkivs.net and the GB was started by Paul @ rtec, now jj has taken over GB's under the guise of tuningmeisterjj on there, have a look at the live group buys section and make up your own minds guys. Im not sure if anyone on there has received a set from him, i didnt so got my money back. He was very helpful initially up until he had my deposit but then it became very very difficult to get any kind of response from him... Sorry Adzc im not trying to p*ss on your bonfire but i think other members should have an impartial view on "JJ" when they are handing over monies and not expecting to see goods until 15-20 weeks? DamanC
Without farting on anyones fire, I had heard of this bloke before. A friend of mine ordered a set for his golf, they never showed up and after him having the money for 3 months it was refunded. It seems to be a common pattern...... Im going to put a sensible cap on here too, and ask; for £500, do you think they will be any good? Not even cheapo wheels cost as little as that. If you want nice wheels, then you should buy nice wheels, not fakes.
Alex
Woah there...I figured it was £550 PER wheel! not £550 for the lot. Q1. Has he bought the actual moulds/presses from BBS? or using a casting of an original wheel? Q2. What metal did BBS use to make the LM's? Q3. What metal are they using to make the knock offs? EDIT : FWIW I've owned a set of genuine BBS LM's.
Gaz6002
Are they the same quality as the BBS? The quality and race expertise of BBS is one of the selling points IMO. Will they actually say BBS? Are they split rim? How much do they weigh? If all the answers are the right ones I'll be interested
