TRD DAN
new to all this , so is my fuelling mappable through this as its seems to be running a bit rich and dont really want to go pressing buttons when i dont know what they do:p cheers for any help
Mr. Fish
Yup you can....all it does is fool the ecu into think that either more or less air is coming into the engine which obviously alters the fuelling i belive...it can modify it to a certain degree, its 50% adjustment either way for fuelling, it cant do anything else like ignition timing or anything.... The only way you will be able to set one up your self, if you have an AFR gauge..do you have one? and how do you know your car is running rich in the first place... Did you install it yourself then? as if a tuning shop did it, surely you would have got it setup all at the same time..If you did do it yourself, make sure you have completed all the inital setup before you started the engine, otherwise you can damage it.... If you have an AFR gauge / AFR monitering device, and wish to have a go at setting it up yourself, SAFC's are the easiest thing to use in the world I think i have got the above right, im sure if i havent someone will correct me
TRD DAN
cheers mr fish it was installed before i bought it (my car is marcos old car if that helps) it doesn't have an afr gauge i will get one the acr is running rich as you can smell it and the co2 machine at work told me haha
Ian C
If it's running rich at warm idle, as your use of a CO2 machine at work suggests, then the SAFC won't help as the car will be in closed loop at that point. It's probably confused because the stock narrowband O2 sensor isn't working correctly, and sending a false "lean" signal to the ECU, so it adds too much fuel in. -Ian
Pabs
I've got an SAFCII installed in my car too - Paul E installed it when he owned the car. Mine runs a bit rich top-end but I was told on here not to bother fiddling with the SAFC to lean it out a bit and just to leave it set to 0. I have no idea what I'm doing anyway (would have got someone else to do it though)
