twinturbo setup??

i have euro spec tt with LHD and love it;)

but in next winter perhaps little more power... about 500fwhp

(i have read the threats that this the max "safe" for auto box)

but i have many questions:search:

 

-do i need second gearbox oil cooler( i have understanded that euro spec tt have one or bigger one?)

-can the first cat be in place or has it to be removed?

(i have custom made downpipe 3" after first cat and 2.5" end section) because it not pass inspection otherwise.

-i"d like to stick with upgraded ic in original place(recommendations?)

i don"d like fmic

-what i understanded that the original fuel system is ok?

- what turbos should i use id like to stick with original twinturbo setup with upgraded inner parts and that all original parts will fit intake,exhaust,piping.....

 

i am thinking of an autronic sm4 engine management local garage has a lot of experience of it.

 

and anything else that i should be take in consideration?

 

i have used search and read the threads suberb forum thought...

about 500fwhp

 

450fwhp is around the max you will get with rebuilt stock turbos.

You should be okay with the standard cooler.

 

-can the first cat be in place or has it to be removed?

 

The standard cats are very restrictive, if you run high boost with the stock cat in place you are likely to see high exhaust gas temps, which if too high could be potentially dangerous for your engine. If you need to keep one cat in place I would fit a high flow second cat.

The Euro spec Supra has 550cc injectors and higher flowing pump, these will be adequate.

Get you stock turbos rebuilt with bigger internals.

First of all ... if you want to get 500 bhp, the only way to achieve this is going single, otherwise, you won't achieve that figure.

 

For the TT route (max of 450 bhp on hybrids), the following answers to you questions :

 

1. for the power output you aim at, I think the more cooling for the autobox, the better. For BPU, I don't think you will need an additionnal airbox cooler.

2. You can go for a downpipe which retains the first cat. For better power, removing both cats would be the best (like RMM downpipe for example).

3. If you go for full BPU, the reduction of the inlet air temp is very important. The standard IC will propoably not be up to the job.

4. The fuel lines should be fine, and your 550cc injectors will be fine too.

5. On the standard turbos, you can go up to 1.4 bar of boost, which will give you around 430 bhp. As said, Hybids such as stage 3 of Envy can give you some more bhp. But, generally, TT setup won't go past 450 bhp.

 

500 bhp won't be achieved on standard euro-spec turbos

ok thanks...

 

i meant that standard turbo housing bigger internal parts so that is hybrids??

so there are only about 20-30 fwhp difference between stocks and hybrids? perhaps not worth the money...

 

does anyone know any performance figures for 420-450 fwhp supras

with autobox

Thats about what you would pay for a reasonable set of hybrids in the UK, but don't forget you will have high shipping charges from US.

is there not a turbo specialist in Finland that could convert yours?

it would work out a lot cheaper,

also the most realistic FBHP on std turbos is about 410, which is pretty exceptional, 450-460 FBHP on hybrids, but you would also need cams to reach that figure.

if i get autronic engine management will i need some kind boost restrictor system?

 

or can i just use boost controller that comes with autronic.

I don't know the autronic engine management. But it's always interesting not to control the boost over the ECU, but to use a boost controller for that.

 

If I were you, I would keep my stock turbos and go fully BPU on them. It will safe you money, and as I said ... the power gain is marginal for hybrids. Before going single, I had my stock turbos running with GReddy FMIC, GReddy e-manage, GReddy boost controler, FCD and iridium plugs. The whole fuelling components (rails, injectors and pump) were original.

The power output was around 430 bhp at 1.4 bar of boost.

 

I guess the main reason why to go for hybrids is after stock failure and not wanting to go the single route.

one question more...

 

i have the first cat in place and the second is taked off and has catback exhaust

my boost gauge reads 0.6 on turbo 1 and after about 4200? when the second turbo is kicking in it reads about 0.75 is this ok??

i used second gear autobox...
