Stuliet
After having my turbos blow, I have now had these replaced and fitted an AEM EMS at the same time. But (there is always a but), when the AEM is fitted, that car will not start - there is no power to the main relay - so no electrical juice to turn on the fuel pump, etc. (apparently pin 24A is only giving out 5v which is not enough to flip the relay). Replacing the stock EMS, and everything powers up as expected. On advice of the garage doing the work and the mapper, I returned the AEM to the supplier and they checked it. No prizes for guessing that them AEM works fine for them. Any ideas what could be wrong with my setup and tests I can give the garage to check? Pig
If AEM says its fine then i would suspect it is. Who has fitted it?
RobSheffield
What voltage are you seeing at the battery?
Stuliet
If AEM says its fine then i would suspect it is. Who has fitted it? The EMS has only gone back to the supplier who tested it on a different car. Ryan G fitted the EMS has spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why it would not work, eventually deciding it was faulty. He do do some 'magic' and wired up a different 12v supply to the relay and then everything worked as expected (except that the fuel pump would be on permanently - not ideal) What voltage are you seeing at the battery? The battery was drained and on a charger before fitting the AEM. Is it likely that the battery would work fine with the stock ECU but fail for the AEM? If so, any recommendations for a new battery? I guess it is a minor thing for me to try.
