Pot
I'm not, but wished I was (Damn overtime) - Had a great time last year marshalling the bridge when the historics came out from their pit, just had to stand out on the tarmac (The far side of the gravel trap at Priory) with GT40's, E-Types, and many other stunning and rare cars (TBH, I can't name any more, I just remember them from my past) flooring it onto the track only a metre or so from my feet EDIT : I know there's a lot more there, but that time was really nice Sort of special in a way
Gerry
Something about th sounds & smells of old cars that you just don't get with new ones... Saw an old GT6 like I had years ago at Goodwood the other week and the first ting I noticed when I bent down to look inside was that it smelt just like mine did - strange ! Gary... you two will have loads of time to do what you want to do when your kids get more independant, it's good, but I still miss having "kids" lots. Saying that, I spent all afternoon playing with my grandson in the garden - great !
Dnk
I was there helping my sister with her 1960's Alfa, phew what a long hot day on Sunday, she finished 1st in class and 26th overall out of 45 entrants in her Masters race. Several of those came back a bit battered, my brothers car got taken out on the 1st corner in the same race. the pic was taken at Mallory as i forgot my camera for Silverstone doh ! Great event and quite well organised with a stunning amount of classic lovelyness everywhere, men and motors covered the meeting
Gerry
Was a brilliant day on Sunday... Just can't belive it wasn't full of spectators, the place was almost empty ! Had a great (6.30am) drive up there and saw a few nice motors on the way, the best being an XJ 220 which sadly stuck at 65 mph up the A34 despite me willing him to give it a little blip Silverstone was great, you could wonder anywhere you wanted, grandstands, pits, in and out of the garages talking to the drivers & mechanics... The two Silk Cut LeMan Jags looked and sounded great as did the JPS & Camel F1 cars. Some great racing too. Will pop a few pics up in the next day or so.
