Dann
Ok so my N/A is now using a hell of a lot of fuel as in it is using more than a skyline gtr 33. My brothers work place is 45miles away his skyline uses about £10 worth in a day, last week i took him to work in my n/a and it is using approx £25 each day she is drinking the fuel like it comes out of the taps. But on the other hand its not popping and banging. After a hard run then slow in town might get 1 or 2 pops but nothing major. Now I am no mechanic but am sure a n/a should not be using more fuel than a gtr33 running 1bar boost. Have checked the fuel lines replaced the fuel filter and no leaks or out so any clues as to why i am burning so much ? Thanks in advance for your help Dann p.s. Sorry for spelling and grammer am not that good at it, I will be honest.
Nic
Dann, when were the oxygen sensors last changed? These are usually the main cause of poor fuel economy. They only have a certain life, once they're knackered the ECU will default to a very rich setting causing poor mpg's and loss in power. AlexM
Have you done the usual o2 sensor change?
Dann
I got new o2 sensors when i did the mainfold to stainless but had to buy two single wire skyline ones. will check them out as had issues with the back on knocking on the bulk head. Nic
I got new o2 sensors when i did the mainfold to stainless but had to buy two single wire skyline ones. Use only genuine OEM Toyota ones, I know a number of people who've used cheap generic ebay ones that have still had problems with poor fuel economy, this has been sorted by fitting the correct ones. The OEM ones are not cheap (especially on an NA and UK spec which need 2), but considering how much a tank of fuel is these days they will quickly pay for themselves in fuel savings. Dann
Ok just looked i need a new rear o2 sensor. the back one the wire was just hanging there the sensor was in hole but not connected the wire has snapped at the head of the sensor. Ok so 2 new oem sensors required but i need the screw in type not the seperate bolt in type. As my aftermarket stainless mainfold has the big hole for the sensor to screw in to. Many thanks for your help problem solved I am very grateful for your speedy help. Will the car still be ok to use though as i am ment to be going to get my ice install done tomor. Many thanks Dann

Dazzi
You done a service recently? Oil change Oil Filter Sparks Fuel Filter Airfilter etc Makes the car run so much better and feels new and may help your economy. I noticed a little but the 02 Sensors made the biggest difference. Also check the trimming on your wheels and they are pumped up to the correct PSI.

All the OEM sensors are 2 bolt fitment. http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/6194/p1020548mf8.jpg I'd get the bosses modified to suit, you just need a flange making and welding to the top of the bosses on your manifold similar to this. http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/1246/p1030161cy8.jpg

Jim_1979
I'd be interested to know also. I've not got fuelling issues, but tbh I don't know when (if ever) the sensor was changed. I have a Jspec TT.
