marc_p Posted July 25, 2008 Share Posted July 25, 2008 Hi, Had a bit of a problem last night, the ring that the belt goes around fell off the crank pulley:blink: and it looks like it was probably slipping a very very slight amount on the crank pulley. Is it alright to put the ring back on with a little bit of sealant as the ring looks to be in perfectly good condition as it fell off in the pub car park when I started the car and the belt is also fine, I think the belt just came a bit loose and allowed the ring to come off, the thing is I really need the car for tommorrow, I am alright to do this? Chris Wilson Posted July 25, 2008 Share Posted July 25, 2008 You may need a new crankshaft as well if the remaining hub of the pulley is loose on the nose of the crank. This is because it may have chewed up the keyway in the crank and worn the nose of the shaft undersize.
