michael
What colour is the smoke? Sounds like it might be too much fuel from your description - is the car standard? If not can we have a full list of mods please?

gaz1
yeah sounds like she is overfueling badly, we need more info, afrs should be around 11.3 at full boost, and around 14ish at normal driving
Tricky-Ricky
If the smoke smells of oil and it smokes both on boost and overrun then i would say its the turbo seals.
Guest The_Scorpion
Yeah its leets old car with the bl72 big single kit i havent realy driven her much but when she runs stationary the aem wideband gives me figures around 15 and when i drive her it changes very much but i do know the a/f ratio drops and have seen 12 and 13 many times but cant be verry exact on this since its hard to wach my driving and the boost meter and the wideband at the same time. This is a movie of the car wich show the smoking a bit the smoke had a dark something betweeb grey and black en it smell like its oil. but i cant imagine its normal since at boost the smoke is pretty much! here the film:

Chris Wilson
I have a car here with the same problem. Dyno time only on the turbo, and it's knackered. Turbo stamped ICS, what's that one?
David Reid
As other have said thats not over fuelling its oil.

Ian C
Oh my word that's some smoke! Time to pull the turbo and inspect it like CW says. It's not going to be stem seals, they go very slowly over a long period. -Ian
Homer
What worries me is the comment from the one who posted the video (Is it you?): hi, its not burning any oil trust me the smoke is pure fuel because it runs to rich it runs 15 up to 16 on the eam wideband where it schould run 12 to 13 so i just need to remap the fueling ecu wich will be done. michel lane
that looks like the turbo seal is on its way out , do a compression check aswell, who knows it might be piston rings. did you not get it checked over before you bought the car ?? if it needs re-tunning that sounds a bit bad. Guest The_Scorpion
the car was checked but anyway it doesn't matter much now al that matters is to find what is causing this and fix it! so the turbo seals will probaly need replacing then? michel lane
i would say check the turbo first then work towards the engine, top down .
Guest The_Scorpion
anyway, talkked to some poeple today at a company that will be taking care of my supra in the future, most probably its the turbo sleals wich would mean the turbo will be either replaced by a bigger one or it will be rebuild and tuned to perform better then ever. either way will do a compression check, leakdown check and a endoscopie so that we are sur what the problem is and work from there.
