Feeling a bit down..

because I really don't want to, but there's every possibility that I might have to sell my beloved this year  I keep trying not to think about it, and everytime I watch a video clip or see an amzing Soop in a mag, I think 'No, I have to keep mine,' but realistically, it doesn't make sense to keep her. The money from the sale will be very useful, and that'll be the main reason if she does go - my mum and I want to buy our flat, and it'll be very useful to have a lump sum to put down. I can't be selfish about it, though I know my mum will probably be more upset than me to see her go. I guess there can always be other Soops. On paper, I shouldn't have bought one in the first place - I don't drive to work as I'm on a limited mileage policy and it would be as expensive as the train if I did drive; also, my insurance is so much that it's just unbelievable - if I didn't live at home, I would never have been able to keep the car as long as I have... some people pay less in rent each month than I do for insurance! But I don't really care about having no money to spend on anything each month - I'd happily keep blowing my cash to keep her, but it feels like I have to think about the future. All this feels especially weird seeing so many newbies joining and getting Soops, and here's me thinking about leaving the family. I'll wait until my renewal comes round in the summer, but it'll probably be even more than last year, in which case I think she'll simply have to go.

I know this wasn't really going anywhere, I just wanted to share my thoughts with you guys.

 Sorry to hear that you are feeling so down. You have to do what you think is best for you and your mum. If you do have to sell, maybe there will be other supras in the future :)

I know what you mean Seb, I spend about an hour everyday wondering what it would be like to have money again!

I'm going to be buying a house late on this year, so have to have a long hard look at my priorities, but all I can say is that I'm enjoying every minute of the Supe at the moment.

So, until you do sell it - enjoy it, rather than worry about owning it!

Like Sakura said, you will have the opportunity in the future to get another, I was Supra-less for a couple of months last summer & it's not the end of the world, although I spent most of the time devising what mods I wanted to do when I did buy another! (oh yeah, I did some work too!)

Good luck mate :)

I know what your saying mate.

I'm kinda in the same boat myself.

My car's prevented me from going on holiday and moving into a new flat twice ... but on the other hand its given me soo much joy :)

If you really can't afford to keep her then selling's the only way.

Time and situations change. Maybe you find your self buying another soop soon,... or even the mk5 :)

Good Luck, Soops and tight budgets just don't go. :(

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I know it's not the end of the world to have to sell, but you get attached to cars, especially ones as nice as the Soop. Still, I'll see how things turn out. Trying to think what to replace it with if it does have to go - from a work perspective, a BMW would work out best and cheapest for me, but not sure if my heart's in it. Toying with the idea of an Aristo V300 Vertex - the old skool shape ones go for around the £4k mark, and it's a great sleeper car.

It is only a car, which will devalue year on year. It makes no sence to keep itif you need the cash more. But we all understand the attachment and how hard it can be to let go. Put your money into the flat you will not regret it. As your circumstances change you will get another car that excites you in the future. It may even be another MKIV.
