Just took out a P1

A scooby P1 had come up at a local dealership so I thought it would be rude not to pop in and take it out!

The unbiased review;

The interior didn't really inspire me when I got in, but the seats were nice but I didn't have that much leg room, maybe with a bit more playing about I would have had more space.

The gearbox was direct and smooth but I kept forgetting it was only a 5 speed and I was ready for 6th.

Power, you'll probably not believe this but I honestly couldn't beleive how slow it felt, If I had no idea about this car and someone told me there was a turbo I wouldn't have beleived them, and from putting my foot down in 5th at 60 it didn't feel as if anything was happening! I can probably believe the evo on top gear now!

Handling, I didn't get to push it on the bends but with the 4wd I bet you could have some fun really hammering it on the exit.

Brakes, didn't feel and better than the jspec's on the supe, the feel was very similar but I was expecting it to really bite.

So to sum up, well I honestly felt much better once I climbed back in my supe! I was just really suprised by the lack of pace, even the speedo didn't even to go up that fast and mine's stock too!

Prehaps with a few mods it would feel lively but it ain't for me!

Tom.

Trust me, having both a Supra and an Impreza in the household, I can guarantee the Scooby would whip around the corners quicker than a Supra, but any straight road would see the Scooby getting smaller in the rear view mirror.

Personally, I really like the Scooby. It really reminds me of a decent mk2 Escort. Very chuckable and nippy. Ours isn't the P1 so it's a fair bit slower, but lots of fun around town... Especially in the recent snow! :D

OK smart arse! I s'pose I left myself open for that one :innocent: - But my terminal speed was quicker, and I had a boost leak, and I'll think of some more excuses later!!! :p

Scooby corners faster than a Supra?? no way, a RWD corners by far much better than any 4WD, having both a 340BHP wrx and a 400/600bhp supra, a WRX is faster only on wet roads where u have no traction. The other day i was following a wrx and we went through some fast cornering, at a point he lost it! i thought he will crash... When i went to buy a supra I drove a 380bhp supra when i had my 340bhp wrx going from one to another i thought my subaru was broken or something i was flooring it and wasnt moving much(obviously in comparison with the supra). Then i sold it :eek:

PS Its also the driver i suppose when it comes to corners

4WD understeer...

Supra rules straight, downhill uphill motorway sideways

Whatever way you see it a supra is faster :devil: :devil:
