SimonB
The bolts are supposed to be slack. If you tighten them you run the risk of cracking the cam cover. They should be barely more than finger tight. Try a dab of gasket sealer in the corners.

They were very slack to the point that you could undo them with your hands so I nipped them up slightly. I tightened them until there was resistance with a little socket set. I figured they should'nt be dogged down to allow for expansion but it just seemed that they were far too slack. Hope nothing has broke, I must go check now

From the service manual they are supposed to be 5.4Nm, which is so low it's hard to find a torque wrench that goes low enough.

Chris and Alana
Checked yesterday and the cam cover is fine have done about 250miles since nipping it up so I would imagine that would have been long enough for any expansion to crack anything if too tight. Thanks for the advice though guy just hope the leak has stopped as it looks clean now. If it hasnt I will drop you a PM SUPRA61 Thanks again. SimonB
y do u if it wont leak? Well pretty obviously it will leak if it's cracked! There's a fair amount of oil circulating through the cams and being whipped around in there. If your cam cover is cracked it's going to leak bigtime.
