tbourner
I love this great country we live in, just come back from the job center.....seems i cant claim anything ie dole as i made my self unemployed by quiting my old job. Morgage protection are taking the same line. That can't be right! Surely you had a job and were told it was not available any more, that wasn't your choice!! If it helps, have a look around this site, I know it's pants work and you'll be lowering yourself etc. but if you can't claim dole and don't have a job right now it might help a bit. The online surveys and stuff are crap money but you could apply for mystery shopper work or become a TV extra or something. Every little helps? Guest Budz86
Sorry to hear this Raven. I work for a recruitment company and know that if you interview well, they can find you work pretty quick. That would be my advice for you in the short term (it will pay the bills as you will probably be paid a week in hand). Temp contracts are an option, and also have a word with their permanant team for a more 'settled job'. There are around 15,000 agencies in the UK, google the one's in the Thanet area, ring them for an e-mail address and point of contact then start firing over your CV to them all. Tell them you are willing to consider anything and briefly explain the situation your in, I promise they will be all over you if your work history is as good as you say. Places to start are Reid, Addeco and Hays. Yes I do work for one of those, but they are some big names and most companies have heard of them, so increases your chances of a job. Hope everything turns out well for you mate, anything I can help with, drop me a PM
The Raven
Well went to see them a few days ago, seems all is not lost, 6 to 8 weeks i will know for sure. Mean time i have stuck the supra for sale, and sent cvs to Game and B&Q and prison officer training, and the thanet earth project. Throw enough see what sticks i guess. Fifty
This makes my blood boil. I am not in as bad a position but as some know was just made redundant. This fortunately allows me to claim Mortgage Insurance after 30 days (WTF!). I worry each day they will not pay up, but should be OK. i have some experience with CVs so I will help with yours if you Email it - if you like; no charge just a critical view may help. PM me if you would like any help. I am of course selling up and leaving Gordon Britain so I am not too worried. I just cut my house by k30 - arrghhhhhh Rich
_Lynz_
Register with an agency it's the best thing I ever did, I was made redundant in May but registered with an agency beforehand and had a job to walk into. At the very least they could get you temporary work for the 6 or so weeks.

extendor
That did not make for nice reading and I was bracing myself for might and did happen. If I was the boss I would have done the same. A bit of emotion thrown in with caution ref the legal implications I would have offered you the job but with a view to letting it all cool down and seeing how it pans out - but I dont think you are out of the woods yet. Whilst you have the job in hand start looking for another one. If this guy still has business issues you will find yourself out of the door pretty much at Xmas and that would be crap. We all know it is easier to get a job when you are in a job so start looking and aim higher. I hope it all works out for you.

Im well aware of what might happen hence im not stopping in looking for another job. I never threatened them with legal action just let them know what they did to my family life. Time will tell how long the airport lasts
