If your going with the likes of A-Plan, be certain that you intend of staying with them for the whole year and you have absolutely NO intention of changing cars. If you do they will screw you as they have you over a barrel.

Try Admiral. If you have a missus stick her on it as well. Mine brought the price down nearly £400, although that don't mean she is ever gonna drive it.

I think you would be lucky to be paying around £150 a month on your' own policy though when you take the 0 years NCB and your age into account.

really mate? doesnt sound good, although that wasnt the experience i had when changing from the Astra run around to the BM. New quote was given (which was very good) and the money i had previously paid so far was knocked off the quote

Sounds like you got lucky there then lol. Did ur insurance go up though? I think its because mine was going down by so much that i felt conned. Other people have said the same.

I had insured an Evo V under 25 so was costing me 1500. 6 months later i changed to an MR2 turbo (I was now 25). I called them and told them the best quote i had was £450, the closest they could match was £1100 which would mean me getting back £200. I told them to stick it and that i would just take my money, they told me to read the small print as i was only ever going to get 10% of my money back if i cancelled.

Options

1 take £200 and 6 months of insurance while being conned out of around £500

2 Take £150 and no insurance while being conned out of £600

I went with option 1

blimey mate, doesnt sound good, as you say most likely as mine was going up, as i was going from a couple of hundred quid value astra, which was my run around when i had the supra to a 01 325 sport, so either way they were making more money from me.

Cheeky b**tards! :)

Luke,

Just took out my policy and I'm 21. Went with Adrian Flux and they quoted £1500, but that was with 1 yrs NCB. Put you mum on the policy as it will bring it down.

Sky won't insure you due to age. Havn't really tried anyone else as they all seemed sky high. Also, Flux reduced my premium when I told them about my mods! Thought that was quite good

Add as many adults as you can. When i was your age and driving expensive cars, to insure, i always added both my parents and even my next door neighbour. Think my dad saved me £100 and every other adult saved me an additional £20.

It will have all changed now but its worth a go. My dad still saves me £200 on my supra insurance.
