hodge
My EGT is fitted pre turbo in the manifold pot 6 to be precise (as recomended by CW). My question is on slow progresive speed increase im hotting 950 degrees at full boost but if i floor the car its only hitting 850 degrees on full boost at 1.2 bar. Does anyone know any reason why this would happen. Thanks in advance.
Ark
Probably something to do with heat build up over a longer time. Mine does this too.
Chris Wilson
What is the mixture reading during the slow build?

MarkR
Yeah I know but I'm a bit lazy. I usually use that method to unsubscribe, or once the popcorns finished...
hodge
I don't have an air fuel ratio gauge fitted chris. Is this anything to be concerned about.
Chris Wilson
Probably, yes.
David Reid
The only mechanisms to control EGT is ignition advance and fuelling. Advancing the ignition shouldnt be an option as your tuner should have aready optomised it at peak torque or the det limit. I suspect he has mapped the lighter loads to a lambda of 14.7 to give you good fuel ecomony. You have just found an area where this results in high EGT. If it were my car I would take it back to the tuner and ask them to remap the area with high EGTs.
bolarbag
Yeah as above, its hard to find a good level of economy, performance and safety The mapper's probably thinking he's done you well there, but 950 is too high, you want to stay around the 850C area
