hadyn
Hi all, Is it possible to fit a uk spec 2nd decat to a j-spec? AFAIK they're both exactly the same shape, you just need to plug the hole on the uk spec 2nd decat for the 02 sensor which isnt there on a j-spec? Am I correct? I think so

hadyn
What size bolt do you need to plug the hole?
hadyn
Also, I presume fitting the 2nd decat is pretty easy? WD40 on the bolts, then should be no probs to take off with the car jacked up? Certainly not the nightmare that taking the 1st cat off could turn into with snapped bolts/lack of accessibility etc...

ADL Mark
It's just two bolts either end to fit the pipe, but you'll need more than a bolt to cover up the O2 sensor port, it's a hole in the pipe with two bolt holes either side. More likely need a small cover plate to bolt on there?
hadyn
Final question - i always thought the cat temp sensor was in the 2nd cat, however upon inspection it looks like the cat temp sensor is actually at the end of the 1st cat on a j-spec tt - is this right? Jake
yeah that's right. ps In the past I've used an old spark plug to fill the 2nd decat's O2 sensor hole. I broke of the exterior ceramic part of the plug, so it didn't even look as bad a bodge as it really was.
